For Immediate Release
June 3, 2026 — Johnson Digital Systems today announced that LoadOut, a precision reloading and ballistics app for iOS, Android, Apple Watch, and Wear OS, will launch publicly in August 2026. LoadOut gives handloaders a single, local-first place to record their work, run accurate ballistics, and develop loads at the range, with every recipe, firearm, and range-day session kept private on the shooter's own device.
LoadOut covers the full reloading workflow. Reloaders can log detailed records — charge, primer, case, bullet, and overall length — with photo evidence attached to each entry. Its ballistics engine supports Hornady 4DOF measured drag curves for precise trajectory prediction. The Range Day mode captures shooting shot by shot, with group analysis that reports both extreme spread and mean radius, alongside scope adjustments and environmental conditions. For load development, LoadOut implements the OCW, Satterlee, and Audette ladder methods and calculates per-charge statistics, including mean velocity, standard deviation, and extreme spread.
The app connects over Bluetooth to Kestrel weather meters, the Garmin Xero chronograph, and rangefinders, bringing live data directly into a session. LoadOut also ships with a deep reference catalog: 203 cartridges with SAAMI specifications, more than 1,400 bullets, over 200 powders, more than 70 primers, and 213 scopes. The result is a tool with the depth a Precision Rifle Series (PRS) competitor needs to chase single-digit standard deviations, while staying approachable enough for someone working up their first load.
LoadOut is offered with a free tier and an optional Pro upgrade. The app is local-first by design: a reloader's data lives only on the device, with no tracking and no general analytics. A private beta opens in June 2026, ahead of the public launch in August 2026 across iOS, Android, Apple Watch, and Wear OS.
"Reloaders keep meticulous notes, and that data should belong to them — not to us, and not to an advertising network," said Diane Johnson, founder, Johnson Digital Systems. "We built LoadOut to be the accurate, private, end-to-end record a serious shooter actually wants, from the loading bench to the firing line."
Johnson Digital Systems is a precision software company. LoadOut and Daily Alignment are its first apps, both launching in August 2026, with more software to come. Johnson Digital Systems is not an app-development studio; it builds and ships its own products.
